A series of rocket attacks have been reported at Central Baghdad and a US Troops Air Base in Iraq. This comes after a US Air Strike Killed a top Iranian general Qassem Soleimani.
According to reports, the rocket fell in the city’s Jadriya neighbourhood and the Green Zone where a lot of Government buildings and several Foreign Missions which includes the US Embassy are located.
The US-Led Military coalition on an Islamic-State agenda fighting mission confirmed the attacks and noted that two rockets were fired around 80 kilometres (50 miles) north of the capital and it was near US Troops Iraq’s Housing Base. It was also revealed that no soldier was injured in the attack, but civilians may have been harmed.
The Iraqi’s Military revealed in a statement that there was “no loss of life.”
Security sources told news agency Agence France-Presse that surveillance drones have been sent to locate the source of the rockets.
al-Mayadeen television reported that Iraq’s security forces have been warned by Iraq’s Kataib Hezbollah militia to stay away from US bases in Iraq starting from Sunday Evening.
